Dwight L. Williams, Ph.D, P.E
Vice President, LoveSavers International, Inc.
Deputy Director, Reid Temple North Men’s Ministry
Dwight has served in a variety of church leadership roles over the years. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Reid Temple North Men’s Ministry, and sang on the men’s praise team for three years. However, despite his active schedule, Dwight cherishes the opportunity to provide joint ministry with his wife, Rev. Sonja, in marriage ministry.
Professionally, Dwight serves as a Senior Science Advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Prior to serving in this role, he served as a Visiting Professor of Nuclear Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as a Chief Engineer/Principal Nuclear Physicist at the U.S. Department of Defense, and as an on-air television personality under contract with the Discovery Channel.
Dwight has earned several awards throughout his career. His most notable recognition was being named a Director of National Intelligence Fellow. This career defining award, which was conferred at a White House ceremony, is the highest honor available to U.S. scientists based upon classified research and accomplishments. Other awards include a Certificate of Congressional Recognition, a National Young Engineer of the Year Award, and a National Society of Black Engineers Humanitarian of the Year Award.
Dwight earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in nuclear engineering from NCSU, and he earned a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Maryland. In addition to these academic credentials, he also holds a professional engineering (P.E.) license -- a professional credential that enables him to sign engineering blueprints and to serve as an expert witness.
Dwight and Sonja have been married for 21 years. They have a son, David, and a dog named Max.
